Temporary exhibits for the African Ministerial Conference on the Environment (AMCEN)

From the peaks of Saint Katherine’s and the rugged mountains of the Eastern Desert to the endless sand seas of the Western Desert to the rich marine life of the Red Sea, these exhibits spaned across Egypt’s unique wilderness and its natural protected areas presenting Egypt’s unique natural heritage along with its cultural landscapes, showing the diversity of local and indigenous peoples across Egypt.

The African Ministerial Conference on the Environment (AMCEN) was established in December 1985, following a conference of African ministers of environment held in Cairo, Egypt. The continent was facing severe environmental degradation.

The goal of this assignment was to perform relevant exhibits which would provide an attractive backdrop for the AMCEN. The exhibits would reflect a positive image of Egypt’s conservation efforts for the environment and specifically nature and its conservation. The exhibits aimed to grab the attendees’ attention and shed light on Egypt’s rich yet largely unknown natural heritage and its protected areas.
